While you can achieve quite a lot with the levels tool, it is very one-dimensional.Ĭurves, on the other hand, allow you to make much finer adjustments. Using the levels tool you can make a flat image “pop” with contrast in just a few seconds. Using the histogram and slider bars in the levels tool gives you the ability to quickly remap the white and black levels, or adjust the mid-tones to your liking. View the brightness levels of your image with the included histogram display. The tonal values are measured in 256 brightness levels from left to right, ranging from 0 (black) to 255 (pure white). Maneuver these sliders horizontally on an intensity scale to boost or lower intensity as desired. With levels, you are given several sliders to adjust white, mid-tone, and black levels. This is due to the fact that the levels interface is very easy to understand. Often times you’ll find photographers using the levels tool to make tonal adjustments when working in Photoshop. Darkening shadows and brightening the highlights is essentially adding contrast. We have also grabbed the medium-highlights in the top right and pulled them up to brighten them. In the example above, we have grabbed the medium-shadows in the bottom left and dragged them down to darken them. And voilà, your diagonal line now has curves. Add multiple points to make more precise modifications. To make an adjustment with the curves tool, simply add an anchor point to the diagonal line and then curve the line upwards to brighten pixels, downwards to darken them. The middle section of the diagonal line displays mid-tone values. The bottom-left end of the diagonal line represents the darks, while the top-right end represents the highlights. Ups and downsĮssentially, the diagonal line of the curves tool represents the range of brightness values in your image. Once you comprehend how the tool is laid out, you’ll quickly understand how to successfully control and manipulate your image. So where does this tool get its name?ĭespite the sometimes confusing first impression, using curves is really quite simple. And sometimes the box will contain a histogram, a grid, and maybe a few sliders at the bottom. The diagonal line goes from the bottom lefthand corner to the upper righthand corner of the box. All you’ll see is a straight line laid out diagonally in a square box. Open the tool for the first time and you’ll notice one thing immediately-there are no curves. Indeed, curves can be a tad intimidating at first glance. Hence why I believe most people steer clear of curves. Most people fear what they don’t understand. The first step is to understand how they work. With curves, you can quickly remap black and white levels, brighten or darken the midtones, and even match colors between various shots in a sequence. Not only is it universal, but it’s also very versatile, giving you the opportunity to perform subtle tweaks to a specific area of your image or make drastic tonal changes to your entire clip. The curves tool allows you to make precise color and brightness adjustments to a video image. And if you’re going to learn how to use one color correction tool, curves is an excellent choice. However, in the do-it-yourself age of preditors (producer/editors) and the jack-of-all-trades, knowing a few color correction tricks can really serve you well. Even the idea of color correcting video footage will send many editors running for the hills. Color correction can be an intensive and time-consuming process. 12/31/2023 0 Comments To scaffold meaning in educationWe believe that this study could provide a basis for developing angiokinase inhibitors having high affinity for the epidermal growth factor receptor, from the pyrimidine scaffold.Recently, the use of vascular scaffolds has been expanded for the treatment of nonatherosclerotic lesions including SCAD. 12/31/2023 0 Comments Efootball pes 2022 unreal engineBut before that, there’s a lot to fix for Konami and lots of fans to win back. PES’ staple game modes like m圜lub and Master League are missing here and will probably come later as paid content. So this is more of a demo than anything close to a full game. Like we mentioned, the first launch of eFootball 2022 only features nine club teams and no game modes. It’s a minor detail, but a step in the right direction. It’s also nice to see the game continue without cutscenes when the ball goes into touch or out for a goal kick. The speed of the game seems more realistic now and the emphasis on strategy is welcome. That said, Konami does have a few things going well in the gameplay department. Ball and player physics are also too inconsistent. Collision animations are often buggy and it’s not uncommon to find players unrealistically floating around. Gameplay too is far from perfect and lacks PES’ signature responsiveness. With Konami planning to launch the game across PC, console and mobile platforms, fans have worried that it could lead to a compromise on all fronts, and that does seem to be the case here. Pre-match cutscenes and stadium visuals look like they’ve been lifted from previous games rather than being rebuilt for eFootball. Animations too are jerky, limited and don’t flow well from one to the next. Instead, the visuals here look dated and the player faces are inconsistent at best. Let’s talk about visuals first and foremost, because Konami promised a generational shift with the move to Unreal. But goodwill will only take this game so far because it’s clear that eFootball is nowhere near ready for primetime. Where rival EA has stuck with its premium-priced FIFA games every year, Konami is going free-to-play, and in opting for a new engine, has committed to rebuilding from scratch. The one thing we can’t accuse Konami of is playing it safe. So much so that Konami has publicly apologized and promised to address the issues, of which there are many. The game, launched as a skeletal experience with just nine club teams and only offline and online friendly matches available, has been universally panned. We got our first taste of the future of this franchise when Konami launched eFootball 2022 recently, and to say it needs work would be putting it mildly. PES is gone for good, and the series is now called eFootball. With it, the series was ditching its previous game engine in favour of Unreal Engine, going free-to-play, and eventually, it also changed its name. The developer-publisher of the Pro Evolutions Soccer (PES) series had announced that it would not release a new game in 2020 and would instead focus on a new experience for 2021. Konami previously explained that, "The sheer scale of everything we are aiming to achieve for our next-gen debut has made it necessary to pare back our efforts in other areas of development." The PES team has also quiestly been amassing exclusive club licenses in recent year, in what seems to be a new strategy to beat FIFA at its own game.Konami isn’t afraid to shake things up with its storied football franchise. However, those who play the New Football Game demo and fill out a survey about it will earn 25,000 GP (PES' virtual currency) for use in PES 2021 Season Update's M圜lub mode.Īfter taking something of a break last year, PES will return this year as a new-gen game, with a new engine. It's a fairly bizarre launch, with Konami not publicly announcing, or even referencing, the demo online. It appears we'll see more of the upcoming game on July 21, with in-game advertising hoardings making clear there's an event to come. Having played a match, it's very much a rough version of the final product, with everything from some player shadows to commentary missing in the current build. The demo only allows online 1v1 games, with Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Barcelona making up the available teams. 12/30/2023 0 Comments Monica mcclure word writerI’m still thinking through all of this, but it was by far my favorite piece at the conference. The project seemed at first to be about reading and the gaze and the female body, but became almost entirely about the audience, as Amber’s body became a text witnessing its own consumption. About not being lonely because one can find solace in talking about ideas with close friends. There were also passages about dancing in Mexico. No one knew they’d be reading about hard dicks and raw nipples. No one knew what kind of text they’d find. It was her first time experimenting with this specific idea, and every single audience member participated. She then stripped off her clothes for the panel and held a videocamera that projected live footage onto the screen behind her of audience members reading off of her body. We covered her entire body, including her face. Most of what we wrote on her was highly pornographic in nature. Raphael and I spent the morning writing on Amber’s body the answers to a survey she sent out about love, sex, and loneliness. Scott & Zelda Fitzgerald, Ezra Pound, Ernest Hemingway, &c &c &c.Īmber Bemak’s performance employed her own body as textual surface. Each of the letters addressed to “R,” signed by “S,” are composed out of a series of sentences I borrowed from the letters of modernist writers like Lorine Niedecker, Samuel Beckett, F. I recently wrote about the process of creating this project. The project considers how a body disappears into the desert to become nothing but a combination of text fragments appropriated from the love letters of other bodies, other writers, remixed in their absence. Footage completely absent of humans, accompanied by a disembodied voice over. I screened my film remix of personal footage of the desert spanning seven years and thousands of miles. Performances, readings, and screenings that made use of bodies both as the form and theĬontent of our projects, and that presented these bodies (or lack thereof) as remixed inĬonjunction with digital/video “texts.” The panel followed a narrative arc from complete absence of body to full embodiment via the following presentations: Our panel engaged with embodiment and disembodiment through a series of The panel was composed of me, my friends Raphael and Matt who are/were PhD creative writing students in my program at the University of Utah, and Raphael’s friend Amber, who he met while doing a writer’s residency in Mexico recently. On Friday afternoon, I moderated and participated in a panel I called (Dis)Embodiment: Digital Performance Remix. 12/30/2023 0 Comments Rescuetime comWe found that, on average, users check their phones 58 times a day with 30 check-ins happening during working hours (9am–5pm).Īnd just how distracting are these check-ins?
